Red Lion Students Excel at Math Olympics

On Thursday, March 1st, select students from third to eighth grades traveled to Calvary Church in Lancaster to participate in the ACSI Math Olympics. It was an exciting day as students competed in four timed tests that lasted eleven minutes each. There were over 300 students from fourteen different Christian schools at the competition.Congratulations to all of the students who took part!!!  3rd grade – Gabi Dahllof, Jared Hoffman, Joseph Pargoe, Sabrina Rinaldi,Caleb Sachetti and Megan Williams; 4th grade – Nicholas Graybeal, Daniel Mankus, Derek Pusey, Nairobi Smith, Daniel Toms and Matthew Winward;  5th grade – Austin Barbin, Zachary Dunn, Aaron Feiger, Jakob Hoffman, Margaret Johnson and Jacob Pancake;  6th grade – Eli Bogetti, Noah Dahllhof, Logan Green, Jonathan Merigala, Micah Norgaard and Tyler Purse;  7th grade – Sydney Berkey, Kylie Boggs, Cora DuHadaway, Sara Feldmann,  Cade Halteman and Justin Schmitz;  8th grade – Jessalyn Beverin, Nathan Campbell, Katie Crawley, Aaron Rey Ebreo, Morgan Holt and Tamara Thomas.

Top 10 finishers include: 3rd Grade – Sabrina Rinaldi (4th on the Computation Test), Gabi Dahllof (6th on the Computation Test), Jared Hoffman (9th on Reasoning Test), 4th Grade – Nicholas Graybeal (1st on the Reasoning Test), Matthew Winward (9th on the Computation Test), 5th Grade – Aaron Feiger (6th on the Reasoning Test), 6th Grade – Noah Dahllof (4th on the Reasoning Test), Jonathan Merigala ( 8th on the Computation Test), 7th Grade – Justin Schmitz (9th on the Reasoning Test).

Second Junior Jefferson Award Presented

Our school is unique in that we have started the first ever Junior Jefferson Awards program to promote volunteerism in the elementary and middle school grades.  This month, the Junior Jefferson Awards committee is excited to announce the winner of a Junior Jefferson Award for outstanding volunteer work.

Our Jefferson Award winner for the month of December has volunteered for over 80 hours at Lifesong Christian Church running sound for their worship services and programs. When asked what he liked most about the experience, he stated he enjoys the challenge and knowing how to make a complicated system run smoothly. He hopes to continue serving the Lord in this capacity throughout college and learning skills that will help him in the future. This outstanding volunteer is RLCA junior, Andrew Barbin.

5th Grade Biography Party

Fifth grade students recently held their annual Biography Party.  To prepare for this, students read a biography about a famous person.  On Tuesday, November 15, students participated in a Biography Program where they actually portrayed that person.  Parents and fourth graders were invited to attend.  All agreed that the fifth graders did an outstanding job!

P-K Experiences the Life of an Astronaut

Mrs. Billing's pre-kindergarten class dressed up as astronauts for the letter "A" week.  The students learned about gravity and "floated" around the classroom.  As a special treat, the astronauts ate freeze-dried ice cream from the Kennedy Space Center.
