ART

Visual art students consistently develop their God-given talents while creating an assortment of outstanding artwork.  From still-life studies to color theory, from mixed media to linoleum block printing, the project assignments allow students to produce a plethora of amazing solutions.

Elementary

The RLCA art department is second to none.  The Elementary students begin their art education in 1st grade.  The 1st through 5th grades are exposed to various techniques including drawing, painting, collage, charcoal, watercolor, oil pastels and more.  We encourage our students to express the beauty of God’s creation through their creativity of the gifts He has given them.

Middle School

Middle school art classes continue to build upon the sequence from the Elementary art program.  Middle school art students have the opportunity to enter and compete in the ACSI Fine Arts Festival every spring.

High School

High school art classes give RLCA further opportunity to build on the sequence offered at the Middle school level.  They are participating in advanced art classes and have the opportunity to explore many mediums at an advanced level.  High school art students have the opportunity to enter and compete in the ACSI Fine Arts Festival every spring.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Black and white film photography is offered at RLCA.  We have a fully equipped dark room where the students are taught the basics of film photography, and also the dark room procedures for developing the film they shoot.  They have the opportunity to enter and compete at the ASCI Fine Arts Festival every spring.
