Thank you for your interest in Red Lion Christian Academy. Specific instructions for the application forms and for other aspects of the admission
process are outlined below.
APPLICATION: Applications must be sent with a non-refundable $500 international student application fee. Applications are accepted for high school students only beginning January 1 prior to the year of desired entrance. Openings may be limited and applicants are encouraged to apply by May 1. Class placement is pending available space and is not confirmed until an applicant completes the admission procedures and the school receives the Registration and Enrollment Agreement and $800 registration fee.
GRADES/TRANSCRIPT: Parents and/or guardians must provide an English translation of the applicant’s grade report and/or high school transcript and the following references:
- Academic Reference from a current teacher, school administrator, or counselor
- Personal Reference from an adult who knows the student well
- English Reference from the student’s current English teacher
- Pastor Reference
- School Behavioral Record in English from school administrator or counselor
ESSAY: Students entering grades 7-12 are asked to write a one-page essay about the most significant experience in their lives to date.
SCHOOL ORIENTATION: If possible, all parents and students are invited to call the Admissions Office and schedule a tour of the campus and observe a class in progress. If that is not possible, new families are encouraged to explore our school website and view the promotional video.
TESTING: Applicants for admission are required to take an entrance exam. The school uses the Stanford Achievement test to assess student readiness for admission and for placement. In some circumstances scores from other tests may be accepted. If these tests are not available the Stanford test materials will be mailed to the student to take in a supervised location and sent back to RLCA for scoring.
ENGLISH PROFICIENCY: Applicants must be English proficient and have the ability to function in a classroom where instruction is provided only in English. Applicants must demonstrate their English proficiency (oral, written, and listening comprehension). Red Lion Christian Academy does not offer ESL classes. Students in grades 9-11 are also required to take the Secondary Level English Proficiency test (SLEP) and 12th grade students must take the TOFEL (IB or PB) at a location in their country. A personal interview with the applicant and applicant’s parent or guardian is required. Appointments for the interview will be arranged by the admissions office after the application and other required forms have been received and testing has been completed. The interview may be conducted using Skype or another computer video connection.
HOUSING: It is the responsibility of the student’s family to procure housing for the time that they are enrolled at RLCA. The host family must meet the school’s spiritual admissions qualifications and at least one adult must be fluent in English.
ADMISSION & ENROLLMENT: Applicants will be notified as soon as possible after completion of the foregoing steps regarding their acceptance and admission to Red Lion Christian Academy. Prior to issuance of an I-20, applicants must complete the above process for acceptance and admission.
In addition, the parent or guardian must provide:
- Completion of the Family Application Form
- Affidavit of Support and Supporting Documentation Required by the INS
- Full Payment of Tuition and Fees ($800 registration fee and annual tuition)

According to the enrollment contract, all fees are non-refundable. If a student withdraws from school after the tuition has been paid, parents will be reimbursed a prorated portion of the unused tuition according to the school’s reimbursement policy. Class placement will not be confirmed until after all fees and admission paperwork is received. In classes where enrollment openings are limited, applicants may be placed in a wait pool. Class placement may occur from the wait pool but is not guaranteed. Tuition payments are due June 1. Please refer to the Tuition and Fee Schedule for a list of current costs.
