Elementary

Elementary years are critical in the life of each and every child.  At Red Lion Christian Academy, we intentionally partner with parents to provide an environment where Christ reigns supreme and is the focus and foundation of all our efforts.

During the elementary years, students expand their world academically through differentiated classroom instruction and curriculum linked field trips. Academic excellence in line with consistent individual improvement is the key to maximizing student achievement.  Students explore their world through studies in the five core subjects, bible, math, language arts, science and social studies, and through studies in related arts.  Subject matter gradually increases in complexity from kindergarten through fifth grade.  In-school and after school activities provide students with a wide array of experiences so that they have the opportunity to discover and develop their God given gifts and abilities.

Red Lion intentionally equips students for their futures through a biblical perspective no matter when or where teaching takes place.

As per Psalm 22:30-31, we believe “Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.  They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn-for he has done it.”

How will our precious children serve the Lord?  Time will tell.  For now, Red Lion staff, students, and families, strive together to form a firm foundation in Christ, ready for His call.

Mrs. Greer's Science Class just completed a unit on invertebrates. In this unit they learned that invertebrates are animals that do not have backbones. They were able to examine live worms and observe a working ant farm. Students also made a lap-book in which they compared the main groups of vertebrates (animals with backbones) with the main groups of invertebrates (animals without backbones). As a culminating project the students were asked to make an invertebrate animal from a specific invertebrate group. For example, Morgan, Madison and Taylor made a crab for the arthropod group. Other animals that were created were octopuses, snails, earthworms, leeches, spiders, ants, starfish, sea urchins, a dragonfly, and a sand dollar. When all the students' projects were completed they were displayed on the 2nd grade bulletin board.
