In Mrs. Walker's PreK-4 class, the students discovered what happens to water when it freezes...inside balloons! Each student had the chance to touch and examine the ice globe. Afterwards the students got to look outside as Mrs. Walker, with the help of Mr. Beazer, smashed the ice globes. Being stuck inside because of the cold isn't so bad!

Rain, rain, go away? Not for these preschool students! Mrs. Perez's class built an ark and stayed snug inside it while the rain poured outside their classroom. What a great way for three year old students to learn about Noah!

Snow flurries were seen in Delaware and preschool students prepared for a real storm by learning the art of igloo building. Not enough snow? That's ok. Students got creative with plastic containers.

Can you hear the siren? Do you see the lights? The Delaware City Fire Department sent truck 15-5 to Red Lion for Fire Safety Day. Fireman Bill Hart gave students a tour of the truck and reviewed fire safety rules. This special unit taught children what to do in case they are ever in a fire emergency. Most of us know the basics, stop, drop, and roll, stay low in a smoky room, dial 911, etc. but even more important if you are three or four and scared, NO HIDING! What a great day preparing students for emergencies and taking away a little bit of fear so that children can stay safe.

Mrs. Francica's class enjoyed a field trip on our own campus. After studying the autumn season, they were quick to point out all the signs of fall. I wonder if they found any acorns under the oak tree?

Who can resist starting the day with a smile when learning is so much fun? Budding artists spent time creating in our Early Education Center. Childhood treasures like the one in progress here can be viewed at drop-off or pick-up and will eventually find their way home to a refrigerator near you!

Mrs. Huey is our well loved Early Education Administrative Assistant. She has been home taking some very serious medicine for the last few months and getting well. Our EEC students and staff miss her dearly and sent a very special video birthday greeting. MaryBeth's birthday is April 9th. Happy Birthday Mrs. Huey! We love you! Check out the video birthday card by visiting our Meet the Lions page.

Mrs. Billing's and Mrs. Driver's four year old preschool class focused on the letter "P" this week. On Thursday to help them learn this letter, the students dressed up as piglets. Each student had their picture taken with Principal Osbourn and enjoyed pancakes for breakfast. On Friday they were allowed to wear their pajamas and eat pizza. Can anyone see a theme? Our students did!

February features Jonah and the big fish, and, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Mrs. Ernst's P3 class is learning of God's love for us, and that He never leaves us, even when we have trouble listening and obeying, as Jonah certainly did at first. Our letter this week is Pp. Lots of fun projects reinforcing and learning this fun letter! Prickly porcupines, muddy piggies, and penguins on an icy pond were a few of the fun phrases used to teach this letter. We have lots of music and movement in class each day, since we can't go outside with all the snow. The EEC building gets to dancing and moving! We keep our hearts healthy, both spiritually and physically.

Mrs. Knight's preschool class has been going on a safari exploring God's creation of unique creatures. Students have made many jungle animals which are on display in their classroom. The projects on display grow as the class continues to study and learn more about God's power and mighty ways. The theme for this unit is "God is wild about us! We are learning how much God loves us through our Bible stories, scripture memory verses and curriculum. Psalm 104:24 "How many are your works, O Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures."

Every preschool class prayed over a blanket that was given as a gift to a dear friend. May God hear them. May this wonderful woman be healed. Thank you Jesus for little ones who love and trust you at such a young age.
